Sharing Hope Through the Love of God
Pastoral Staff Brother Jeff has been leading our congregation since 1989 and has been in the ministry for over 25 years. He is a graduate of Mercer University (80) and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (83). He is married to Dorothy and they have two adult daughters and a son who are all married with children and still living in the county, and another daughter in High School. Bro. Jeff has led our congregation through many transitional stages including a complete relocation of the church in 1995 and is now enjoying one of the biggest transitions in his life - becoming a grandfather to little Rylan, Jaylee, Melanie, and Jincey. Dr. Darren W. Thomas - Minister of EducationBrother Darren has been serving as our Minister of Education since 1995. He grew up in this congregation and after graduating from Georgia Southern University(93) and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary(95), he returned to serve on staff. Bro. Darren received a Doctorate of Education in 2005 from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary School of Leadership. He and his wife Mikki have two boys ages 10 and 9 and one a little girl age 5. Bro. Darren has a great passion for the Sunday School ministry and the potential it has for reaching the unchurched as well as ministering to the congregation.
Rev. David Sharp - Student Pastor
Brother David joined our staff in November 2007. He has over 10 years experience in student ministry and feels the Lord has called him to student ministry for the rest of his life. David is a graduate from Mary Hardin-Baylor University (94) and Southwestern Baptist Theolgical Seminary (96). He and his wife Kelly have two children, an 8 year old boy and a 5 year old girl. David is a very relational guy and loves to see students grow in their faith. He is very much in touch with the youth culture of today and is very gifted in helping families through the teen years. Rev. George Pabst - Missions Pastor of Crossorads Church
Brother George joined us in 2003. He is a graduate of teh University of Kansas (85) and Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (87). Bro. George and his wife Barbara have three children: a daughter in college, a daughter in High School, and a son in Middle School. He has been leading a church plant in South Effingham called Crossroads Church since 2003. A mission that was begun by a united effort of 10 local churches in the Effingham/Chatham area. pastor@crossroadschurcheff.org
