HOW ONE LIFE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE:
"Mrs. Josie", Josie Zittrouer served the people of Effingham County from her own pantry and barn for many years.  Sice the early 1970s, many who have found themselves in need of food and clothing have found themselves standing on Mrs. Josie's front steps; and because Mrs. Josie had a heart for people and a heart for Jesus she was there to help them.  It was her desire to be the hands and feet of Jesus by meeting the practical needs of people when they were unable to pay for them themselves.  From time to time people would refer to God's Mission House as "Josie's Mission House" and Mrs. Josie would straighten up her petite little body and look you square in the eyes and say, "Oh no- this is not Josie's Mission, this is God's Mission."  Mrs. Josie has gone on to be with the Lord, but her legacy still lives strong through God's Mission House.  The ministry is led now by her daughter Linda Fortson and her husband Earnie and, in February of 2009, moved from Josie & Jame's barn to a new building of its own on the campus of the First Baptist Church of Springfield.  Thank you Mrs. Josie for teaching us that living life to the fullest is found in service to others.  Because of your years of service and example of compassion, your ministry now will far exceed your physical life through the ministry of God's Mission House.
